1. Cookies and tracking — what the site actually sets
We do not use cookies on the public site. We do not set advertising cookies, third-party trackers, or analytics pixels owned by external networks.
The only persistent state the website sets is a single anonymous identifier in your browser’s localStorage, used by the platform’s visit-counting beacon to know whether two visits came from the same browser. The identifier is a UUID; it does not carry your email, your name, or anything you typed.
There is no consent banner because there are no cookies. If a jurisdiction requires a banner for other reasons (for instance, a future feature that introduces a cookie), we will add one at that time and update this page.
2. The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form on the home page, we receive your name, email address, and the message body. We do two things with it:
- We deliver it to the Cause team inbox so a real person can read it and reply.
- We store it as a private
ContactMessagerecord so the team can reference the conversation later.
We do not sell or share the data with anyone outside the Cause team, and we do not transmit it to advertising networks.
3. In-product data — sessions and accounts
When you use the Causeproduct, the prompts you write, the sealed exchanges you record, and the recipient replies you receive live inside ephemeral sessions. The product is built so you decide how long each send lingers on the recipient’s device. After the seal, the bytes are swept. There is no archive of everything you have ever said.
4. Data retention
We keep contact-form submissions no longer than we need to reply to them and to keep a memory of the conversation. The current retention window for contact submissions is TODORetention window for contact submissions. After that window, contact-form records are deleted.
Database backups follow the standard platform rotation. Backups that have aged past TODOBackups retention window are overwritten.
5. Third parties
The only systems that touch your data are the developer platform that powers Cause (hosting, database, visit beacon, email delivery) and the Cause team. A current list of recipients is TODOThird-party recipient list.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. The relevant address is cause@polsia.app. Or use the contact form on the home page. We will write back within a reasonable turn of time.
7. International visitors
Cause is run from the Gold Coast, Australia. If you are visiting from outside Australia, the data described above is held there. Where local law gives you stronger rights, those rights apply on top of this document.
8. Where this document is incomplete
A few lines in this document are marked TODOOwner input required. They are placeholders for the specific retention windows and third-party list that have not yet been supplied by the founders. They will be replaced with real values before public launch; in the meantime we hold contact submissions only as long as the founders ask us to.
